About Us
The Humiovi, pronounced Hoo-me-oo-vee, has been locally owned and operated in Sedona, Arizona for over 30 years. We have been licensed by the Hopi Tribe and situated on the corner of 89A and Jordon Road since the early 1970s.
The store was given its name from the Hopi Tribe. The name, Humiovi, means “Little Seed that Sprouts.” That is exactly what The Humiovi has done since owners Bob and Ann Robinson bought the store in 1994. Since then, they have developed personal relationships with each artist they buy direct from and have turned the business into a family affair with their daughters, granddaughter, and even a young great granddaughter working at the store.
Northern Arizona is home to the Hopi and Navajo reservations, a three-hour drive from Sedona. The Humiovi has collections by renowned Hopi artists such as Augustine Mowa Jr, Todd Hoyungowa, and Sparks Masawytewa. As well as Navajo artisans Joe Manygoats, Maggie Bedah, and Veronica Yellowhorse, just to name a few.
