Yes β complimentary insured standard shipping on jewelry orders within the continental United States, for everyone, with no account, no subscription, and no minimum. Yes β The Humiovi ships worldwide. International orders are quoted at checkout at the live carrier rate in US dollars (USD), with full tracking and insurance. We ship on a Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis: import duties and taxes are not included in that rate. As the importer, you are responsible for any duties, VAT, or customs fees your country assesses, payable to the carrier or customs authority when your order is delivered. Visit our International Shipping page (/shipping/international) for supported countries, rates, and delivery timelines.
Absolutely. Every shipment from The Humiovi is fully insured for the complete purchase value. In the rare event of loss or damage during transit, we will work with you to resolve the situation promptly.
We accept returns for a refund within 30 days of delivery. Refunds are issued less a 20% restocking fee, and return shipping is the customer's responsibility. Should you prefer a different piece, exchanges for an item of equal or greater value are complimentary β no restocking fee applies. All items must be returned in new, unworn condition with their original packaging and Certificate of Authenticity. See our Return Policy (/policies/returns) for complete details.
Contact us within 30 days of delivery with your order number, and our team will provide a Return Authorization number and instructions. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility for both refunds and exchanges, and we recommend a tracked, insured method. Once we receive and inspect your piece, we process your refund β less the 20% restocking fee β or, for an exchange, help you select a replacement of equal or greater value from our current collection.
Exchanges are complimentary for a piece of equal or greater value; if the replacement costs more, you are responsible only for the difference. Should you prefer a piece of lesser value, we issue the difference as a refund β less the 20% restocking fee β to your original payment method, or in full as store credit toward a future piece.
Please contact us immediately -- ideally within 48 hours of delivery -- with photographs of the damage and your order number. Damaged or defective pieces are always made right at no cost to you: we provide a prepaid, insured return label and either replace the piece or issue a full refund with no restocking fee.
We use a rigorous four-step authentication process: direct artisan relationships, verification of tribal affiliation, hallmark and stamp inspection, and a Certificate of Authenticity included with every purchase. See our Authenticity Guarantee (/authenticity) for full details.
Yes. Every piece purchased from The Humiovi includes a Certificate of Authenticity detailing the item's origin, the artisan who created it, the materials used, and the tribal tradition it represents.
Authentic Native American jewelry is handcrafted by tribal artisans using traditional techniques. Key indicators include artisan hallmarks or stamps, natural materials (genuine turquoise, sterling silver), hand-fabricated construction, and designs rooted in specific tribal traditions such as Navajo silverwork, Zuni inlay, or Hopi overlay.
If you ever have concerns about the authenticity of a piece purchased from The Humiovi, please contact us immediately. Our authenticity guarantee means that if any piece is found to be inauthentic, we will provide a full exchange -- no questions asked.
Turquoise is a relatively soft, porous stone. Avoid exposing it to water, chemicals, lotions, or direct sunlight for extended periods. Remove turquoise jewelry before swimming, bathing, or applying cosmetics. Gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing.
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time. Polish regularly with a silver polishing cloth. Store silver pieces in anti-tarnish bags or cloth when not being worn. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, chlorine, and saltwater.
Store each piece separately in a soft cloth pouch or lined jewelry box to prevent scratching. Keep jewelry in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The branded gift box your piece arrives in is ideal for long-term storage.
While many of our pieces are durable enough for daily wear, we recommend removing jewelry during activities that could cause damage -- such as exercise, gardening, cleaning, or swimming. This is especially important for pieces with turquoise or delicate inlay work.
Yes. The Humiovi ships to select international destinations including Canada, Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Germany. International orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail International or UPS Worldwide, with full tracking and insurance included. Delivery times typically range from 7-14 business days depending on the destination.
It depends on your destination. The Humiovi ships internationally on a Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis: the amount you pay us covers the item and the live carrier shipping rate in US dollars, but it does not include import duties or taxes. As the importer of record, you are responsible for any duties, VAT, or customs fees your country assesses; these are collected by the carrier or customs authority at the time of delivery, not at checkout. Rates vary by destination β for example, Canada, Australia, and Japan apply little or no duty on these goods but levy local sales tax (GST/HST, GST, or consumption tax), while the United Kingdom and the European Union add VAT (roughly 20%) plus a small duty. Your card issuer converts the USD charge to your local currency at the prevailing exchange rate.
Yes, every international shipment includes full end-to-end tracking. You will receive a tracking number via email once your order ships. Tracking is available through USPS or UPS depending on the carrier selected for your destination.
Absolutely. Every piece purchased from The Humiovi -- whether in our Sedona gallery or through our online store -- is verified authentic Native American craftsmanship. Each order includes a Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) detailing the artisan, tribal affiliation, and materials. The Humiovi is a member of the Indian Arts and Crafts Association (IACA), the leading organization dedicated to promoting and protecting authentic Native American art.
All prices on our website are listed in US Dollars (USD). Your payment processor or credit card company will convert the charge to your local currency at the prevailing exchange rate at the time of purchase.
Certain natural materials β including coral, spiny oyster shell, and conch shell β are regulated under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). Items containing these materials cannot be shipped to countries that restrict their import. If a product in your cart contains a CITES-regulated material, we will notify you during checkout and offer alternative selections.
Yes! We offer three tiers of gift wrapping for all orders, including international: a complimentary branded gift box, a premium wrap with satin ribbon, and a luxury presentation with a handwritten note card. Gift wrap selections are available during checkout and are carefully packaged to withstand international transit.

Yes. Every purchase from The Humiovi β domestic or international β includes a Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) verifying the artist, tribal affiliation, materials used, and stone origin. The CoA is included as a physical document with your shipment and is also available as a downloadable PDF from your order history.
Yes! For our international collectors, we offer messaging support on WhatsApp (available for EU, UK, and DACH region inquiries) and LINE (available for Japan). These channels are available for product inquiries, order updates, and concierge consultations on high-value pieces. You can find our messaging links on our Contact page (/contact).
We recommend visiting a local jeweler for a professional sizing. If that is not possible, you can measure the inside diameter of a ring that fits well and compare it to our sizing chart on the Sizing Guide page (/sizing-guide). For bracelets, measure your wrist circumference and add 0.5-1 inch for comfort.
Some pieces can be resized, while others cannot due to stone settings or design complexity. Contact us before purchasing if you have sizing concerns, and our team will advise whether a particular piece can be adjusted.
Buy from a seller who names the artist and tribal nation, provides a Certificate of Authenticity, and guarantees authenticity in writing. Genuine work is handcrafted by an enrolled tribal artisan from natural stone and sterling silver, carries an artist's hallmark, and shows the variation of hand-fabrication. Our guide to buying authentic Native American jewelry (/guides/how-to-buy-authentic-native-american-jewelry) walks through each signal.
The Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 is a U.S. federal truth-in-advertising law. It makes it illegal to market goods in a way that falsely suggests they were made by a Native American or a particular tribe. It protects both Native artisans and buyers from imitations. Read more on our answer page (/answers/what-is-the-indian-arts-and-crafts-act).
Treat it as a disclaimer of imitation. Under the Indian Arts and Crafts Act it is legal to sell mass-produced jewelry as "Native American style" or "Southwest inspired" -- that wording signals the piece was not made by a Native artisan. Authentic work is described as made by a named tribal maker.
Yes. The Humiovi is a member of the Indian Arts and Crafts Association (IACA), founded in 1974 to promote and protect authentic Native American art. Every piece we sell carries a named artist, verified tribal affiliation, and a Certificate of Authenticity.
A hallmark is the artist's stamp -- usually initials, a pictorial symbol, or a clan emblem -- found on the back of a piece, alongside a metal mark such as "sterling" or ".925." A trusted seller can match the maker's mark to a specific artist. Our guide to reading hallmarks (/guides/reading-hallmarks) explains where to look and what each mark means. Note that many older pieces are unsigned, so a missing hallmark is not proof of a fake.
Genuine turquoise shows natural, irregular matrix (the host-rock webbing) and varies from stone to stone, and it feels cool and stone-like. Perfectly uniform color, a too-regular web, or a warm, plastic feel can indicate dyed howlite, reconstituted block, or imitation. The safest assurance is a seller who states each stone's origin and treatment in writing. See our Turquoise Buyer's Guide (/guides/turquoise-buyers-guide).
Natural turquoise is cut and polished with nothing added; stabilized turquoise is genuine turquoise infused with clear resin to harden naturally soft, porous stone so it can be worn. Both are real turquoise. Natural is rarer and more valuable; stabilized is more durable and affordable. Reputable sellers always disclose which one you are buying -- more in our guide (/guides/stabilized-vs-natural-turquoise).
Color comes from chemistry: copper pushes turquoise toward blue, while iron pushes it toward green. Neither is "better" -- a vivid robin's-egg blue and a rich Sonoran green are both prized. Even, saturated color without chalky patches commands a premium.
Matrix is the pattern of host rock left in the stone -- the brown, black, or golden webbing running through it. It is part of turquoise's character, not a flaw. Certain patterns, like the tight black "spiderweb" of fine Kingman or Lone Mountain stone, are especially sought after.
High-grade natural turquoise is genuinely rare, many famous American mines (such as Bisbee, and Sleeping Beauty since 2012) have closed, and authentic pieces are hand-made by skilled artisans. Price reflects the scarcity and quality of the stone plus the labor and reputation behind the work. More detail on our answer page (/answers/why-is-turquoise-jewelry-so-expensive).
Navajo (DinΓ©) work is defined by bold silverwork and prominent turquoise; Zuni work centers on intricate lapidary -- inlay, needlepoint, and cluster settings of small, precisely cut stones; Hopi work is defined by silver overlay, a two-layer technique creating designs in shadow with little or no stone. Our guide compares all three (/guides/navajo-vs-zuni-vs-hopi).
A squash blossom necklace is a traditional Navajo silver necklace built from round silver beads, flared "squash blossom" beads, and a crescent pendant called a naja at the center. Developed by Navajo silversmiths in the late 1800s, it is one of the most iconic Southwestern forms. More on our answer page (/answers/what-is-a-squash-blossom-necklace).
A naja is the crescent-shaped pendant at the heart of a squash blossom necklace. The crescent is an ancient protective symbol that reached Navajo silversmiths through Spanish-Mexican bridle ornaments of Moorish lineage. Read more (/answers/what-is-a-naja).
Zuni inlay is a lapidary technique in which small, precisely cut stones and shell are fitted tightly into silver to form patterns or figures -- either channel inlay (each stone framed in metal) or mosaic inlay (stones set flush against one another). It is a signature of Zuni Pueblo craftsmanship (/answers/what-is-zuni-inlay).
Heishi is jewelry made from small, hand-cut and hand-rolled beads of shell or stone strung into smooth, fluid strands -- among the oldest forms of jewelry in the Southwest, strongly associated with Santo Domingo (Kewa) Pueblo. Learn more (/answers/what-is-heishi-jewelry).
A ".925" or "sterling" stamp means sterling silver -- an alloy of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. The added metal makes the silver hard enough to wear. It is a metal mark and is separate from the artist's hallmark. More on our answer page (/answers/what-does-925-mean-on-silver).
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes as the copper in the alloy reacts with air and moisture. Polish with a silver cloth, store pieces in anti-tarnish bags away from humidity, and avoid contact with chlorine, saltwater, and harsh chemicals. See our Care Instructions (/care-instructions) for full guidance.
Avoid it. Turquoise is relatively soft and porous, so prolonged contact with water, lotions, perfumes, and cleaning chemicals can discolor the stone -- natural turquoise especially. Remove turquoise jewelry before swimming, bathing, or applying cosmetics, and wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear.
It can. Natural, untreated turquoise may gradually deepen in color over years of wear as it interacts with skin oils -- a quality many collectors prize. Stabilized turquoise, hardened with resin, stays color-stable. Neither change is a defect.
