Squash blossom set in coral

The skeleton of precious coral, from salmon to deep oxblood red. The site lists its coral as from the Mediterranean.

Silver blossoms hang along the strand, and the necklace ends in the naja, a crescent at the centre. Southwestern silversmiths have made the form since the late nineteenth century.

Organic and soft — wipe with a dry cloth only, and avoid water, heat, and chemicals. Buff with a soft polishing cloth — leaving intentional oxidation intact — and store airtight to slow tarnish.
