Native American opal jewelry brings shifting fire and color to contemporary Southwestern silverwork. Opal is not a traditional Southwestern stone, but modern Native silversmiths have embraced it β particularly in inlay and bold single-stone settings β for the vivid flashes of green, blue, and fire that animate a design. Our collection gathers opal across rings, bracelets, pendants, and earrings, set in sterling silver in established techniques. Durable, consistent opal is favored in precise channel inlay, where matched color and wearability matter, while finer natural stone anchors statement pieces. The work shows the marks of the hand: hand-built settings and careful finishing. The play of color in a well-chosen opal makes each design its own β a luminous, modern counterpoint to turquoise and coral that reflects the ongoing innovation of Native artists folding new materials into a living tradition.
