From its discovery in the copper-rich hills near Globe, Arizona in the 1920s to the mine's permanent closure in 2012, Sleeping Beauty turquoise has undergone a transformation from abundant commercial stone to one of the most coveted minerals in the gemological world, with prices increasing 300-400% since the final extraction.

The Kingman mine in Mohave County, Arizona has operated continuously since the late nineteenth century, producing turquoise in a remarkable color range from sky blue to deep blue-green, with its spider-web matrix specimens ranking among the most valued turquoise in the world.

Discover this exceptional Native American Pendant, handcrafted by Navajo (DinΓ©) artisans, meticulously crafted in Sterling Silver. This remarkable piece showcases genuine Kingman Turquoise, beautifully complemented by Royston Turquoise and Dry Creek Turquoise. The Kingman Turquoise featured in this piece carries a rich heritage β From the Kingman mine in northwestern Arizona, one of the oldest and largest turquoise mines in North America. Operating since the 1880s, it produces classic blue turquoise with distinctive white and black matrix. Complementing the design, the Royston Turquoise adds its own story β From the Royston mining district near Tonopah, Nevada, this turquoise displays a stunning range of colors from deep blue to green, often with beautiful brown matrix ribbons running through it. Rounding out this composition, the Dry Creek Turquoise brings additional character β From the Dry Creek mine near Battle Mountain, Nevada, this unique turquoise ranges from creamy white to pale blue. Also called Sacred Buffalo turquoise, its light color comes from the absence of copper or iron. This piece measures 1.25 inches wide by 1.25 inches tall. The Navajo Nation spans 27,000 square miles across Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah, making it the largest Native American reservation. Navajo silversmiths learned their craft in the 1860s and developed iconic styles including squash blossom necklaces and concho belts. This piece bears the signature of artist V.Y, a mark of authenticity and personal craftsmanship. Every piece at Humiovi is one-of-a-kind β once sold, it can never be replicated. Heritage
A great Southeastern Woodlands nation β the Muscogee (Creek) carry a distinct legacy of silver gorgets, finger-weaving, ribbonwork, and beadwork.
Art Traditions
Muscogee art is bound to the life of the talwa (town) and the square ground β the heart of Creek ceremony and governance, where the sacred fire is kept and the Green Corn ceremony (Posketv) renews the community each year. Designs tied to the fire, to the cardinal directions, and to clan identity carry meanings rooted in this living tradition, which the Nation has sustained through removal and into the present. The persistence of Muscogee craft is itself an expression of cultural resilience β artistic knowledge carried across forced migration and rebuilt in a new homeland a thousand miles from where it began. Regalia and adornment remain central to ceremony, social dance, and identity, and contemporary Muscogee artists continue to work in both historic and modern idioms. Humiovi presents Creek-attributed work with respect for this distinct Southeastern heritage, taking deliberate care not to blur it with the Southwestern Pueblo and DinΓ© traditions, which differ from it in materials, technique, and meaning.
Cared for thoughtfully, a handcrafted piece is meant to last generations. A few essentials for this one:
Sterling silver
Buff with a soft polishing cloth β leaving intentional oxidation intact β and store airtight to slow tarnish.
Last on, first off
Put your piece on after fragrance, lotion, and hairspray β and take it off before water, sleep, and sport.
Store with care
Keep each piece in its own soft pouch, away from direct sun and damp, so softer stones never meet harder ones.
