Spiny oyster rings showcase one of the most vibrant materials in Native American jewelry β shell in vivid orange, deep red, and rich purple, harvested from the spiny oyster mollusk of the Gulf of California. Traded inland along ancient routes for more than a thousand years, spiny oyster has long brought warmth to Southwestern design, a classic complement to cool blue turquoise. Our collection sets it into hand-fabricated sterling silver, in bold single-stone rings and in inlay where the shell's warm tones are cut and fitted by hand. The lapidary selects and cuts each piece of shell for the hue wanted. The result is jewelry that radiates warmth and energy, with stone-to-stone variation that marks authentic work. A spiny oyster ring is a striking, sunlit alternative to turquoise, rooted in centuries of trade and craft.
